Thanks for the response.
The error occurs when trying to set the 'myDestFolder' and provides the error Object Could Not be Found (see attachment for full details)
I have used the above Folder names as example s but the real folder Exists within INBOX (and is not a sub folder)
It has been suggested that all my tasks be included in a VBA script rather than some items in the Outlook rule and others in the script.
I am now trying to do just that.
Put simply I take the Outlook.item (containing words in the Subject) and save the body to a file available for processing on...
Hi Diane,
Thanks again. Again I notice that '.. the advice...'. I haven't seen any documentation suggesting that all actions are in a script (not to say there isn't any information somewhere). As stated previously to action a script is just one of many options to select with no suggestion...
Diane,
News to me !
I have had several rules constructed in a similar manner - i.e. the basics within the rule and other tasks (unable to complete within a rule) in the script.
I guess I could make the changes but doesn't really answer why I could perform the rule on previous occasions - last...
Diane thanks for the response.
I have attached 2 files -
1 - showing the Rule - i.e. it moves the file to another folder (which it does) followed by the script which is VBA and takes the item.body and places in a file then creates a file with a list of all files to process. This code has a...
Thanks for response.
Not sure I understand completely.
I hadn't used VBA scripts in Outlook 2016. Took me ages to actually find how to. Eventually got running yesterday but today not working. Don't think Microsoft has actually changed anything / update since yesterday. Suspect some settings...
Michael,
Many thanks - have been 'playin' and managed to achieve some results.
Seems like a 'macro' that appears in the macro list has no parameters (as stated) and these are the only routines listed in the available scripts when creating a Rule.
Thanks again
I have used vba with EXCEL extensively but want to write a small macro / script that operates from a RULE in Outlook. Simply check all incoming mail and if 'something' is in subject line then execute - i.e. extract data from body and write to a txt file for processing elsewhere.
I have...
Diane - thanks for your help.
I think I found the problem!
Never looked here before.
I'll UNCHECK this item and suspect / hope all is now well.
Thanks for your help
Thanks for reply - not really a problem but have taken another look and I can't see an obvious way to run as administrator .
The screen shot shows the 2 places I can access Outlook from. I don't have a desktop shortcut - don't need one with ICON Pinned to toolbar.
Diane - sorry for delay.
Have made 2 of changes above. Outlook Mobile won't delete unless I am 'Administrator'.
Earlier when I had the disk replaced I had an OLMAPI32.dll error and following that stdole32.tlb error (when entering Excel). Both have been resolved / gone away but just wondered...
I believe I have Microsoft Essentials / McAfee.
This was setup when the new disk was installed.
I also have a licence for F-Secure but not installed
Showing details below (apologies but getting to the limits of my understanding of Outlook)
