After Carbonite restore pst files are found in a weird location

I have been studying slipstick information and hope I am ready to tackle this after verifying with you. My hard drive crashed and was replaced. I was and still am running Vista. I did a full restore from Carbonite Personal version. With the help of a Carbonite tech we finally located my Outlook 2007 pst files in an unusual location on the new C drive. I have downloaded Outlook 2007 but not configured my email accounts on the new hard drive yet, I am afraid to start till I have all the steps thought out.

Do I create my new profile for Outlook and set this unusual location as the default delivery location or move the pst files to somewhere more easily accessed? Will the new pst files going forward continue in this location making a move more difficult later or will they somehow land where they are supposed to be?

I will probably go to a new laptop and MS 365 subscription once Windows 10 is out, unless there is a better idea by then, so I want pst files to be able to move to a new machine then. I am eager for good advice and this forum seems to have it.

I'm assuming they are in the restore folder, something like c:\restore\user\appdata\microsoft\outlook ? They are restored to a new folder so not to accidentally overwrite files of the same name that might exist.

I would create a folder under My Documents called "Outlook Files" and move the pst files into it. Create the new profile and point it to the correct pst. Outlook doesn't care where the files are and they are easily backed up in the My Documents - plus as of Outlook 2010, this is the new default location.
