how to make OL (2007) to use custom contact form when importing / opening .VCF?

how to make OL (2007) to use custom contact form when importing / opening .VCF? my custom form works fine within the program, but when i double-click on a .VCF it opens in default, not the custom form. and therefore i can't save it like that - it would not line-up with the rest of the contacts...

alter the timeout for how long outlook looks for a content-server on an HTML-email?

i'd be happy to experiment with that if i knew where that might be settable. would it be this one: http://serverfault.com/questions/430535/windows-7-default-tcp-connect-timeout but neither one of the parameters TcpMaxDataRetransmissions TCPInitialRtt are in my registry.

alter the timeout for how long outlook looks for a content-server on an HTML-email?

yups. hosts is not really an option - we don't know where the faulting email is gon' come next from, and we also don't want to prevent viewing the website of said sender sometime in the future when his/her server is back up. so this 2 mins is hard-coded somewhere - not adjustible by some hack?

alter the timeout for how long outlook looks for a content-server on an HTML-email?

no - this is not about timeouts when contacting mail servers. instead, here's the scenario - you have a beautiful, richly-formatted and image-containing HTML email in your inbox that's trying to pull part of its content from a web-server somewhere... BUT: for whatever reason that server is...

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

however - it never ran/runs on messages that i move there manually, it sometimes now does on the incoming ones that come there from the outside mail server. no exchange, just a buncha pop3/smtp accounts. how to troubleshoot?

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

k - removed that line. yes, that worked, i now get "unread" msgs @ \zunk. but i was rejoicing too early - the macro only runs sometimes, not always. haven't been able to pin down what might be the rationale of that. could it have something to do with the bug that displays the VBA editor?

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

hold on. it's WORKING after all ! not on mails that i manually move to Junk, but on newly arrived mails - which is the desired function anyway. just the startup notification does not appear. the next improvement - how to flag the moved msgs unread in the ItemAdd -code snippet? i'd like to...

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

somehow i think that may be related to the code not working as the folders under the root on that file don't appear in the outlook folders list that i had posted above a few msgs back. but then Junk E-mail is anyway not a standard folder - which is why this whole thread exists !

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

    k. copied yours. when i start OL, i don't see the "Watching..." message box. but i DO see it if i run that code snippet from VBA-editor. e.g. - perhaps the startup macro doesn't run on start? could the below have anything to do with this - the default mail file is somehow corrupt - mostly it...

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

wow ! a video ! thank you. Junk folder IS in the default data file - courtesy Bill Gates. and my folders are as you'd (re)created them - listed at the tail of this. so - as mentioned before, AddItem does move the email that's selected to the right target folder. but the other...

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

no red lines - other colors prevail. ;-) the new code moves the selected message, indeed. so it seems that for some reason the code doesn't run on startup, or fails to detect new mails that landed in the junk folder. the "itemadd is running" message box pops up as well, requiring a click...

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

OL2007 - is there a way to disable the "feature" that cripples mails that are in the "junk" folder?

i did NOT have GetFolderPath on the last go. now i do, as below. if i put it in the top of the page i get a compile error. in the bottom or in a separate module no compile errors. but the VBA is seemingly still not doing anything. -------------------ThisOutlookSession: Private WithEvents...
