I have Office 2007 Professsional Plus loaded & Vista

I am getting the following error when I try to open Outlook

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window."

I have rebooted & Hard Booted

I have turned back my computer using a restore point over 30 days ago

I have removed virtually all of my software that I do not need

I have created new pst files & moved old ones

My former company loaded the Office 2007 onto my computer - I do not have

Product Key or the CD's to delete & reload

I bought the Office Outlook CD and loaded that

I CANNOT GET THIS FIXED AND IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

Thank you for your help

Do you have another version of Outlook running on your computer ? one that

was loaded by your old company ?

from what i understand, you cannot have 2 versions of outlook existing on

the same computer, even in different operating systems

Thank you for your reply

I have only 2007 loaded on the machine.

The computer was brand new May 2008

I shut the computer down Sunday Night and all was fine

Monday morning I started it up and was getting the Outlook error

Re: PLEASE HELP --- ERROR - Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.

what you may want to do would be to "repair" the installation. Insert the

outlook CD, run 'set up' and choose "repair", NOT 'reinstall" (I think this

is the second option). it may work.

cheers

Sounds like you either have a mail profile corruption or a corruption.

Recreate it as per;

http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

Did you recreate it with the mail server information of your former company,

your new company or your private mail account?

What kind of mail account type is that?

Re: PLEASE HELP --- ERROR - Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.

I had the exact same problem--it seems to be because of an update. This is

what worked for me.

Start > Run > outlook.exe /resetnavpane

Be sure and add the space after exe. These instructions were from K. Orland.
