Using Exchange SP1 on W2k8, both fully patched (less R2 and SP2).

Had a major power outage and now the transport service will not stay

started I get the below:

eseutil (5876) Error -1811 (0xfffff8ed) occurred while opening logfile

D:\ExchangeData\TransportRoles\data\Queue\log.log.

For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

eseutil (4456) Error -1811 occurred while opening logfile

D:\ExchangeData\TransportRoles\data\Queue\trn000001C3.log.

A transient failure has occurred. The problem may resolve itself in awhile.

The service will retry in 56 seconds. Diagnostic information:

If you're not concerned with losing any email that may have been in

transit at the time, move everything in the data directory to another

(new) directory and then restart the transport service.

You're missing a transaction log file so the database can't recover to

a consistent state. You could try an "eseutil /p" and then delete the

> .log files, but a repaired database just isn't trustworthy.
