Hello,

my system: Outlook 2003 SP3

I saved my pst file on an external hard drive (cd) to reinstall my PC. After
installing I resaved the pst file on C:\data
After this I attempted to open the pst file using: File -> Open -> Outlook
Data File
I then recieved the error "the file "c:\data\archive.pst" is no personal
folder (.pst)"

I also tried the SCANPST.exe tool -> I recieved the error "the utility
program for repairing the inbox doesn't know the file c:\data\archive.pst. No
datas to recover."

Any idea what I can do to repair my pst file ???

thanks

That's presumably because it still has the Read-Only attribute set.
Right-click on the file, Properties, and remove the Read-Only attribute.
Then try opening the file in Outlook.

If the above is true, you shouldn't have needed to run scanpst at all....

Asking a question?
Please tell us the version of the application you are asking about,
your OS, Service Pack level
and the FULL contents of any error message(s)

The read-only attribute is not set

If attribute is not set, and you burned the copy to cd/dvd, either the burn
went wrong or Outlook was still open during the process.
As a last resort try copying to another PC, to check whether outlook can
open it on another sys
