Dear all,

How do I set the OE to make it new the email active window maximized every
time while I click the "NEW" button ?

Thanks

There is no "NEW" button in Outlook Express. Perhaps you mean Windows Live
Mail which is the e-mail program you're posting with?

It will never open Maximized in the true sense of the word, but rather Full
Screen.

1: Click on New.

2: Close *all* other windows except this one.

3: Grab the edges of the New Mail window with the cursor and *drag* it to
full screen size. Do not use the Maximize button.

4: Close WLMail.

Open WLMail and try it now. Windows only remembers the size of the *last*
window closed.

For future WLMail questions:

Windows Live Mail [Desktop] Newsgroup.

Dear Bruce,

Thanks for your help.

Sorry to my inaccurate wording. Because I am using the Chinese version of
OE6. The 'button' where is located on top left- hand corner.

Is it possible to modify the registry to make the same result?

Thanks

There is no registry change to do what you want. Are you posting using the
so-called Chinese version of OE or Windows Live Mail? In both programs the
toolbar buttons can be moved, so their location is irrelevant.

If the button says "Create Mail", you are using OE. If it says "New", you
are not using OE.

Your messages headers:

X-Newsreader: Microsoft Windows Live Mail 14.0.8064.206
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V14.0.8064.206

imply you are using Windows Live Mail and not Outlook Express. Never the
less, what I suggested should work. Almost all windows can be changed in
that fashion.

By default, no OE message window will ever open truly maximized...but you
can resize the smaller window and have its size remembered.

1. Open only one (1) New Message window.

2. "Grab" the opposing corners with your cursor and "stretch" it to the
desired size (e.g., full-screen) but do NOT maximize it.

3. Close the New Message window.

The resized window must be the last window closed for the size to be
remembered.
