I have installed MS Office pro 2007 with Business contact manager on my

computer after uninstalling an older version of office pro 2002. The 2007

office suite installed ok but when I start the install for disk 2 containing

business contact manager I am receiving the following error.

(Setup failed to install the required component Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Express (MSSMLBIZ). Business contact Manager for Outlook 2007 cannot

continue. See C:\Program File\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup

Bootstrap\Log\Summary.txt for more detail)

I am running XP with enough memory and hard drive space for the install.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling office, running the win cleanup

utility downloaded from Microsoft's support site, down loading the latest

version of SQL express with sp3 and attempted to install with no successes,

adjusting the MSDTC tab to allow remote clients, remote admin etc… and adding

a Domain file to the HKEY registry. All attempts were unsuccessful in fixing

the issue.

Can anyone please offer a fix or a work around that will allow me to

complete the install? This problem is becoming extremely time consuming and

frustrating.

Thank and have a great night.

Can you share a copy of the summary.txt

I am NOT the original poster, but I am having the very same error. Also, I

am NOT an IT pro but only my small firm's designated computer guy. Anyway,

my error message is identical.

Here is the text of the summary (after the dashed line):

When I look at SQLSetup0003_FRONTDESK_MSXML6_1.log, it seems to conlude that

"This package is not supported on this operating system."

Thanks

Install the window clean up utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301)

and remove the version of MSXML 6 Service Pack 2 (KB954459) and re-try the

installation
