Hi

Anyone used the following scenario?

Message Labs -----> two Exchange Edge 2007 load balaned----> Exchange 2003
org

I am more intersted in ML as I have been told that ML cannnot load balance
incoming traffic to Edge (MX record with equal values). In this cas we dont
can realy value having two edge server (besides failover)

Edge will be used only for SMPT relay, Address RW and AV
Decision already made to use ML

Thanks

Why would you want Edge if you are looking at Message Labs?

I understand what you mean...this was business decision I cannt change now...
Edge will also replace all unix based smtp gateways. Possible in future we
can remove ML and use Edge for everythying...

the only concern now for me is round robin on ML for edge servers...

I have similar setup but using different out sourced provider
(Mimecast) and Exchange 2007 org. The reason we use Edge is to
provide a relay server in the DMZ so that the HT server is not exposed
to the Internet, and it gives our web based apps a way of getting mail
out without speaking to the internal servers.

You could use DNS round robin records to do the load balancing part,
in our scenario I have it set to failover so it pushes mail through
the second Edge server at another site should the primary server go
down, the primary server has more than enough capacity to cope with
the load.

Hope this helps.
Andrew.
