Are Outlook 2007 Rules case sensitive?

Can you help me to know all the Outlook 2007 Rule that are case sensitive?

Outlook rules are indeed case sensitive. I don't know when 'they' changed it. But all of the sudden the rules of one of my accounts didn't work anymore. I tried cleanrules - but to no avail. Only when I bought a new computer and had to configure Outlook 2007 there, I found out - by experimenting with the rules - that the rules are indeed case sensitive (like when I use BabuNiki instead of babuniki, the 'babuniki' rule doesn't work).

The rules are in German. I hope you will get it when I translate: Mails with BabuNiki or babuniki in the header, move to directory A, and a copy of it move to directory B. Apply no other rules. This rule worked fine for years. But then, from one day to the other, the mails refused to move. Only when I added the upper-case name to the rule, it worked again. (I assume that this case distinction was part of an update by MicroSoft.)

As you say, it would appear *SOME* rules are case sensitive and it appears to be in contect. Take the email address below as an example:




InsideLitigation <admin@enews.sbmedianews.com>




Now, if I select "from people or public group" it will take inside litigation, INSIDELITIGATION or InsideLitigation. However, if you pick "with specific words in the senders address, sometimes it doesn't care and some times it does. If you use "with specific words in the message header" it is always case sensitive.




Very odd programming behavior, but I'm just reporting it, not writing the code :)
