Hi there,

until now, nearly everything worked perfectly with Windows 7. But now the windows search doesn't work anymore like it should. When using the Windows Search (Via start-button) and trying to open shown search results which are Outlook 2007 (With Exchange) email items, nothing happens anymore, no error message, nada. same for contacts. Other search results such as startmenu links or files can be opened.

any advice is welcome as i'm completely clueless whats going on here...

No this is a different issue because the search already works perfectly. The only problem is, found e-mails or contacts don't get opened when i click on them.

I click on start (the windows 7 start button), type in my search text, the results come up (including mails and contacts from outlook 2007), i click on a result (email or contact) and nothing happens (the clicked contact / mail should be opened in outlook...).

i have this issue only on my laptop, on my desktop it works perfectly, both are running windows 7 professional x64 with office 2007 with SP2.

Sorry, but the link you posted doesn't contain any similarity to this issue (he doesn't even adress an issue, he just asks HOW he can search his archives), but thanks anyway. Again, i'm not using instant-search in outlook, but the windows 7 desktop search.
