I firstly had a problem where I couldn't open Outlook (has been running OK for ages) and discovered that when I click the red "X" in the top right hand corner to close Outlook, the Outlook window closed but if I did CTRL-ALT-DEL Outlook.exe was still running, so thats why I couldn't open it again. That's the first problem - why won't it close? When I do get it to open it runs for a few minutes then freezes with "Not Responding" displayed in brackets in the blue header bar. I've run Detect and repair twice but that hasn't fixed the problem. The total of all my mail folders is just over 800k and I believe Outlook can handle up to 2mb in its mail folders. I've been told it could be a corrupted user profile causing this. If so how do I recreate the user profile. I don't want to change the profile name and of course I want to retain all the saved mail and settings.
