Suggested Names do not appear when typing in To, Cc, or Bcc lines.

The "Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names..." box is checked.

There are many names accumulating in the "Suggested Contacts" folder in Contacts.

But there is no drop-down list of suggested names appearing when I start typing in the To, Cc, or Bcc lines.

Try creating a new profile in Outlook and then check if you"re able get the autocomplete entries. Click below for information on how to create a new profile.

Note: Ensure to export the data from suggested contacts and then import back into the new import. Also create the email accounts in new profile.

I created a new test profile and the suggested names work correctly. What do you suggest now? Can I make my original profile work correctly?

Thanks.

Set up the new profile the same as your old. Delete the old.

The problem turned out to be caused by a 3rd party application (Xobni) that also had an option to enable suggested names. That option had been disabled.

So what was the solution? Did you have to enable autocompletion in the 3rd party app before Outlook's autocompletion would work?Russ Valentine
