Hi,

I have Ex2007 sp2, 112 mailboxes, 95 GB in use on mailbox-db disk (200GB). This is a drive on a SAN.

Can I use this mailbox-db disk for my Ex2010 ? Will I have disk enough to do the move-mailboxes ?

Are "old Ex2007 mailboxes" deleted, when a move is completed ?

Greetings,

Woef.

Woef,

You can't share the same volume between two servers if that is what you are asking when you say shared on SAN disk. Now if they are seperated into logical volumes, say, both 100 gigabytes, you would really be cutting it close on disk space. I'm not saying that it wouldn't work, it just wouldn't be the best idea.

So, I do need double space as long as co-existence.

Disk ex2007 - 100 GB

Disk ex2010 - 150 GB

move mailboxes, kill ex2007

delete disk ex2007

this is the cheapest way ?

Hi

This`s good plan. Also, you can configure additional RAID for log DB

For calculate storage requirements you must use E2010 Mailbox Server Role Requirements Calculator
