I would like to be able to place Exchange 2010 custom managed folders in the root structure of users' mailboxes (alongside inbox, sent items, etc). Is this possible? If not, is it possible to prevent the "managed folders" folder from being collapsed?

Thanks,

Gordon

you will have the managed folder displayed under the managed folders folder.

for the collabse I don't think that this is doable.

Thanks for your response. I realize that the default location is under the managed folders. I am wondering if there is any way to specify a different location such as the root. The issue is that if there is a collapsed managed folders folder, users are not going to necessarily take advantage of the folders placed with in it. - "out of sight, out of mind". I am looking for some way to making them more prominent and easily accessible. I could also see alternate uses for other organizations where they may have business information that is as important as inbox/sent items/etc, and they want that information and the policies that follow it to be located in the root of the users mailbox as well.

if you want the policies to be applied on the default folder or all of the mailbox then create a managed folder policy and apply it to the mailbox or the default folders.

otherwise I suggest on you to do training for users this will enhance their experience rather than relying on technology to assit them, I think that locating managed custom folders outside of the managed folders folder is not an option AFAIK
