I am trying to assign delegation to a user and I receive the following message.

The delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

We are using 2010 for the server and client. There are only specific mailboxes that this is happening for after being migrated from Lotus Notes. The user can use their mailfile fine however it is just the delegation that appears corrupted somehow. I'm not sure how to fix this. I have checked the access through the security tab in ad and that looks fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Setting this registry key http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950794/en-us, (I didn't apply any patches, am running Outlook 2010 RTM) resolved the issue for me. The article is for Outlook 2007, so you have to create the entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 instead of 12.0
