Find a Contact box doesn't find company names

Tom Esh

I have some contacts that don't have first or last names, just company names (ie. Home Depot, etc.)

The "File As" field also contains the company name.

The problem is that the "Find a Contact" box on the standard toolbar doesn't find the contact for the contacts

that only have company names.

Does anyone know of a solution?

Use "Advanced Find" to find the contacts. Open outlook and get to contacts folder. Now press "Ctrl + Shift + F" to open Advanced find.

According to Windows Help File, it's not supposed to work this way. It reads:

You also can search for contacts from any folder in Outlook. Do the following:

On the Home tab, in the Find group, in theFind a Contact box, type the name of the contact.

You can enter a partial name, such as Judy L, a first or last name, an e-mail address, a display name, or a company name.

I'm finding out that some contacts that will open by company name and others that won't. This is very strange.
