Outlook 2010 keeps stopping

I have recently upgraded to Office 2010 and Outlook continuiously stops working, closes down and restarts. Normally it happens when I try to open emails or attachments. The only software I have installed since the upgrade is PDF converter.

Provide precise details on what you mean by "upgraded." Outlook does not support upgrade installations. Tell us what you did to ensure that Outlook was installed cleanly and had a new profile.Russ Valentine

Ensure there are no multiple versions of Outlook installed. If found uninstall it.

Click on Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.

Try to open Outlook in safe mode using the following steps:

Click on Start > Run copy and paste the following command in the Open field and then press Enter:

Outlook /safe

If Outlook works fine in safe mode, try to disable the Add-ins for it.

To open the Add-ins option in Outlook 2010, try the steps given below:

Open Outlook > click on File > Options > Add-ins

Note: the link applies to Outlook 2007; however the steps remain the same for Outlook 2010 as well.
