Recently upgraded from Office 2007 to Office 2010. Outlook 2010 loading screen will show " Loading Profile" for a very long time if it is closed and reopened. The only way to get it to open again is to restart the PC. This is very annoying if I accidently close Outlook.

Try opening Outlook in safe mode and check what happens

1. Click on start>all programs>accessories>run

2. Type “Outlook /safe”(without quotes)

Note: there is a space between Outlook and “/”

3. If opening Outlook in safe mode works try disabling the add-ins and check

4. To disable add-ins

a. Open Outlook

b. Click on File>Options>Add-ins

c. Com add-ins>Go

d. Uncheck add-ins one at a time and check which one is causing the issue

5. If the above steps fail create a new profile and check if it works.

The problem isn't with add-ins. I found another article that helped. It said to delete the profiles key:

Go to Start > Regedit

Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem

Delete the Profiles key under the Windows Messaging (Subsystem) key.
