Copying Outlook.pst file to Outlook 2010

Not open for further replies.

I need to copy the outlook.pst file from my notebook (using Outlook 2010) to a new desktop also using Outlook 2010. On the notebook the file resides in C:/Users/Myname/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook and works fine. However, although I copied the file to the same location on the new desktop, when sending/receiving email, I get error message (ox8004010F).

The rest of the information in the file is intact ie. Canedar and Contacts.

How can I fix this? Thank you

Never overwrtite an existing .PST file, it freaks out Outlook and often corrupts the Outlook profile. First ting to try is creating a new Outlook profile:

Create a NewOutlook Profile

You also need to make sure your copied .PST file didn't get set "Read Only" in the transfer process. 0x8004010F can also indicate data file corruption; with Outlook closed on your notebook, make another copy of the .PST file, put it in ANY other folder than the default location so you DON'T overwrite any existing files, then open it using 'File tab|Open|Open Outlook Data File'; once open, you can set it as default, or drag and drop its contents into a new, empty .PST file.
