We have a problem with Outlook 2010 on Windows XP. When a user is logging on to a computer and starts Outlook 2010, there is a screen displayed that is going to configure Outlook settings, but this should not be nessecery, Outlook is already configured. After a while this error is displayed: Error 1325.folder Is Not A Valid Short File Name. Then the screen can be closed and Outlook is working fine. In the eventlog error this error is logged:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None
Event ID: 11325
Date: 14-9-2010
Time: 11:47:31
User: MYDOMAIN\Username
Computer: ADMI-02
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 -- Fout 1325.personeel is een ongeldige korte bestandsnaam.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

I can see that the foldername given in " Fout 1325.personeel is een ongeldige korte bestandsnaam" should be a foldername. In the Group Policy we use folder redirection (Basic) to the user home directory and the name " personeel" is a part used in the homedirectiory name (\\servername\HomesPersoneel$\username). Al documents and other things are redirected to the user home share.

Everything is working fine, it's just that outlook is running some configuration wizard. Already found something that you need to reinstall office (, but if that's a lot of work with multiple computers.

Anyone a suggestion?

Thanks in advance,
