Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010 - The name on the security certificate is invalid

When connecting to our Exchange 2010 server I get the following error in Outlook:

"The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site"

I have issued a certificate using our internal CA for the correct address and changed the internal URL's so they point to the FQDN of our Exchange 2010 server.

However I still get the error message. Is there somethign I am missing?

Thanks

Getting things to work with an internal certificate will be a nightmare, especially with ActiveSync devices & OA connections from non-domain joined machines. OWA will error as well.

Why don't you use a SAN cert? Try Digicert, cheap & best http://www.digicert.com/subject-alternative-name.htm

If Outlook is 2007 or 2010, it uses Autodiscover to get different urls & all has to be set correctly to get rid of the errors.

Run "Test email configuration" using Outlook to see the urls used and change if necessary.

same issue here... in my opinion it's a step in the wrong way from microsoft to cut out non-domain members with this problems... ever tried to use the out-of-office messages... no way! only available trough OWA... non-domain clients are not welcome... :/Thanks, regards, tim
