We have an issue with fresh installs of Outlook 2007 taking forever to connect to our Exchange 2003 server. This is only on first configuration, and we have identified the issue being that the Outlook client is trying to connect via TCP/IP instead of HTTPS. We are an HTTPS only shop.
I tried the fix illustrated in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843/en-us , but it does not seem to have any effect whatsoever.
Upgraded copies of Outlook work fine, this is just a fresh install. Eventually after 2 or 3 minutes it tries HTTPs and it works great, but it is definitely giving our techs a hard time setting up new profiles.
Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated. I can provide any additional info.
