The POP3 SERVICE is manual and stopped in Exchange 2007. If I am using the POP3 connector for email downloading from the ISP do I need this service to run on automatic or am I following a false trail here? Many thanks for your time.

Thanks I have read both articles, I now think I understand that this should be enabled if a remote user (say) wants to "upload" their emails on the server using the POP service to an email client. It is not for Exchange downloading emails to user mailboxes from the ISP via the POP3 method (at least I have never enabled it and I have POP3 working to the ISP to deliver mail to users mailboxes - hence my confusion). I assume the two functions are separate. Correct me if I'm wrong or still slightly out here. Many thanks for your time.

Hi,

In that case you much have enable the relay for ISP server & if that the same then both are different, have a look into relay IP & check if ISP ip is there or not.
