Outlook Connector Send REcieve Erorrs

Hi,




Frequently, when i try to send or recieve emails i get error messages.




Task 'whatever@live.ca' reported error (0x80041050): 'Server request timed out'


Task 'whatever@live.ca' reported error (ox8004102A): 'Error with Send/Recieve. There was an error synchronizing your folder heirarchy. Error: 8004150.'




I received this message when i tried to send a msg containing attachments up to 12mb. Before switching to a live account, I used gmail. I never had this problem with them and can only attribute this to hotmail connector trying to synch everything with hotmail.




Why is hotmail connector so slow/have a hard time synchronizing? How can i fix this? This problem isnt limited to just large emails either. I very regularly have this issue when i get a number of emails also. It's very frustrating and maiking me wish i never made the switch to live.




any advice would be much appreicated.

The problem is the large message - there is a known issue with syncing large messages to the server. Shift+Delete the message or move it to a local pst.

Would this include receiving too? I deleted the outgoing message as you suggested and havent received another error message until today. At the moment i'm not sending anything nor do i have any drafts saved. Although i'm not aware of any incoming messages that are extremely big. I did log on to live though and didnt see anything in my inbox.




I'm getting the exact same error without the large email...Any other ideas?

Do you have large messages on the server or in any other folders in Outlook? The error happens during a sync and AFAIK, it covers both directions. Do messages seems to sync ok otherwise? I was told the large message sync error is annoying but it doesn't prevent syncing.

I do have a unfinished email in my drafts folder. But it's size is 70kbs. On the first occassion when I recieved the error, i suspected it was due to the large file size. So I eventually deleted the file and continued on. On the second occassion however, I didnt receive anything nor did i send anything but I kept geting the error message. After a while I got frustrated and gave up. The following morning when I hit send recieve there was no error. I didnt recieve anything but the error message disappeared and the connectivity to the server at the bottom right of Outlook indicated that I was connected to Windows Live Hotmail.




I looked at the troubleshooting section you provided and followed the steps. I dont think this work around pertains to me, as much of it refers to pop/smtp setups. I think my problem is to due with the hotmail connector addin. Something within this setup causes it to hang on any random occassion.

I doubt its the draft - outlook and the connector are goofy at times. Actually, its not fair to blame those two without also blaming Live.
