Prevent appointments not yet accepted from showing up in Calendars

Hello,

Got a question from a user to which I have no answer. They stated to me that they never know whether or not they've accepted a meeting request because the meeting always shows up in their calendar no matter what.

So, is there a way to make an appointment show up ONLY once you've accepted a meeting request. Note that we are using a mix of Outlook 2007 and 2010.

We use BPOS so that's Exchange 2007. The problem is that since the appointment shows up on their calendars that they are under the impression they have accepted the meeting request. I just really wanted to know if there is a way to prevent the appointment from showing up until it's actually been accepted.
