After doing an inbox compression, the inbox file was renamed with a .bak extension. I have followed the recommendations of customer service, essentially renaming the file inbox.dbx, but outlook and outlook express still don't recognize the file as a .dbx type. Is there any way to access my compressed emails?

The customer service recommendations haven't worked.

Thanks

What is the size of the inbox.bak which you renamed?

Where was this inobx.bak file?

Create a new identity for Outlook express and go to the folder location and replace inbox.dbx with inbox.bak file and then rename this file to inbox.dbx and open Outlook Express in the new identity and verify the status.

For any further issues related to Outlook express, post your question in the below mentioned forum.
