I have found a problem with Outlook 2010 that does not occur in Outlook 2007.

The background is that:

I have set Options/Mail/Message format to 'Convert to HTML format' I have ensured that under Outlook Properties in Contacts, the setting is 'Let Outlook decide the best sending format'I have emptied the Auto-Complete list I am sending mail to a Gmail account, i.e. I could not have gotten an email from that email address in RTF.

If I compose a new email to the Gmail account, it is recived in HTML format.

If I forward an HTML mail that contains an embedded image, like a logo, the mail is then received in RTF, with the image now in the winmail.dat file.

This seems to be the same problem that others have experienced in sending HTML base .oft files is converted to RTF.

Is there a workaround?

Will this be fixed as part of the fix for .oft files, I believe in SP1?

Try creating a new Outlook profile and check.

Refer the link below to create a new profile in Outlook.

Note: When the recipient doesn't use Outlook, they get plain text message and an attachment named winmail.dat
