Outloo 2007 not sending emails

Hello, My friend is having trouble sending emails. He receives them alright, but when he tries to send them, he receives an email saying it could not be sent. I've tried so may different settings to no avail. He's running Win7 and Outlook 2007.

I've researched as much as I could before trying here. I'm not an expert and that is frustrating. Can you help please?

A few questions to help us narrow down the issue. Does your friend receive an error message? If yes, please send that along. Are the emails stuck in the outbox? If they are stuck in the outbox do they have attachments? Is this affecting sending out any emails or trying to send to specific email addresses.

Thanks very much for your reply.

The messages seems to be sent, but gets an immediate reply from "System Administrator" as follows:

"From: System Administrator

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: RE: again
Sent: 27/11/2010 5:58 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached"

At one stage, the sent emails were sent, but no-one received them!

But since I've tried changing some settings again, it's gone back to where it first started.

I've added some more info, maybe it can shed some light.
