I am deploying an Exchange 2010 with 2 MBX server (DAG), 2 CAS+HUB (Windows NLB) and 1 Forefront TMG. I want to know how many domain name registrations I need and the type of SSL certificate for this architecture.

I read some posts and it says I will need two 2 domain names (an autodiscover domain name?). Also, which type of SSL certificate I need (e.g. my OWA URL is exg.domain.com)?

mail.domain.com

autodiscover.domain.com

if you will not use mail.domain.com internally then:

add the internal FQDN used by users for OWA, and internal NLB name for internal SCP.

the FQDN for your mx record.

since you don't have multiple sites then I will skip adding internal server names
