I noticed that Outbox is missing in OUtlook Web App(OWA), When i changed to OWA to light mode its getting displayed.

I just wanted to know if this is an expected behaviour?

Indeed not visible in OWA 2010 (with FF 3.6). Did not check it with a lightmode.

Possibly the light version handles submitted mails differently than the Premium. With the latter, it checks whether the link with Exchange is good before sending the mail (to prevent dataloss). Perhaps OWA Light submits the mail in the Outbox first, just like Outlook. Or it is just an oversight. But this is all speculation on my part.

In any case, the Outbox is only really necessary when your Outlook is in offline mode. A situation that will not happen with webmail.

The issue isnt that OWA doenst use the outbox, its being able to easily access to remove those peksy emails that are always sitting in the Outbox despite the fact that the message has been sent from Outlook in cache mode. This has been a problem since Outlook 2007. Something that many have experienced and there is still not a single great solution to solving it. You wont see the messages in the Outbox if in cache mode. Switch to online ( or to OWA 2010 Light) and its amazing how many mailboxes have messages in their outbox.
