Hi,

I have about 300 ongoing appointments, which, upon being imported from Act!, became "Act Phone Calls" in the category section. These appointments need to be moved each month to a date in the next month. I tried to select all and move(Leftclick/ctrl) to the correct date on the "to do " bar, but it will not move them. If anyone has a solution, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

thank you, I am trying to familiarize myself with the terminology...I open a view with a calendar, then I can drag them one by one...I am assuming I'm not in the correct "pane." I apologize for my I am looking for a calendar pane, but can't find those words anywhere.

Thanks

Steve

sorry...yes they all go to the same date

If you are in the calendar grid, its the right place - that is the calendar pane. The appointments between the task list and navigation calendars in the to-do bar can't be moved by dragging.

Dragging from the calendar (day, week, or month view) to the date navigator should work - it doesn't work to drag from a list view to the calendar - but man, that is slow going. <g>

You can move a few at a time by holding ctrl and selecting additional ones - this works well if you need them in a series - the last one sets the date and the others adjust accordingly. IE, if you have one each on 3, 5, 7 - select all 3, selecting 7 last then drag it to the 30th - the others will be moved to 26 and 28. Its hard to select more than a handful at a time though...

This video shows how to use the method i mentioned earlier.

Thank you very much, but I think I am not good at explaining with the outlook lingo.

What I want to accomplish is the following:

1. All I need is something like this: In ACT I would have a contact and a task associated with each. The task would just be continually maually dated and would update it with notes and move it to a new date. I would have like a set of current customers who would have a separate task w/ each(simple follow up call) that I would just call them every 3 mos. then after each call update them, and move each 3 mos fwd. This is my basic plan. Many times though, I don't get all of my 3 mo. calls done and want to move a bunch of them at once to the next month.

This is what I tried:

I have about 400 appointments and they are are listed as Act phone calls.

and want to make them "tasks"(I think) and move them to July 28. I selected them all and hit ctrl moved them to the calendar on the right and duplicates were made.

Thank you very much

Steve

PS I tried to take a screenshot and paste it, but it won't take.

Outlook probably is not going to be as easy as ACT... if you use tasks, (will work for appt too) - for the 3 month followup, type 3mo in the date field and press tab to move it ahead 3 months.

Moving the group will be harder - not sure what will be the easiest - i'll need to look at this again.

Thanks ,

Just a thought, but can I create a group or folder(just put all appts or contacts for all the followups and just grab the whole folder or group and move it ahead 3 mos? or

Since this group is something I won't forget about, I can just finish all of the calls(leave the folder or group in the past until its finished) then move it ahead 3?

Folders, no. You can move the group, but I'll have to work out the easiest way to do it. Hmmm. Maybe a macro - select all in a list view and move ahead 3 months. I'll check with some Outlook programmers and see what they say.
