Line through message instead of sending to Delete folder???

Outlook version
Email Account
IMAP
I got new computer (Windows 7) and transferred by OUtlook 2007. Now, my messages do not go automatically into Delete folder when I delete them - instead, they have a line through them and stay where they are. Note: My old computer was POP and when I set up the new one, it is IMAP. Would this make a difference? I have tried to find setting to change the fact that my messages won't go into different folders but no luck. Do you know how to correct it? I'm about to delete OUtlook on new computer and try restalling it; keeping it POP and being more careful how I answer some of the questions in setup.

You have your account configured as an IMAP account and that is how the deleted items work in imap. If you want to switch to POP, you don't need to delete outlook - you can go to Tools, Account settings and add a pop account then remove the imap or close Outlook and do it from Control panel, Mail.

The basic steps are here: Remove and Add accounts

BTW, don't use the auto discover feature - choose the manual check box and create it yourself, otherwise you'll get another imap account.
