I have Outlook 2007.

I have had a POP email account and an IMAP account (gmail) in use for a while.

I added another gmail account, and could not expand any of the subfolders of these IMAP accounts OR any other folders (e.g. storing old emails etc).:(

I have deleted the new (2nd) gmail account, and that seems to have fixed the problem.:)

Can I have another IMAP (gmail) account without this disruption? Are there any tricks?

Thanks

Clumsy Doug.

It should work... there isn't a limit to the number of account or the number of gmail accounts you can have in the profile.

I'm assuming you restarted outlook after adding the account and the problem persisted?

I'll double check it with my two gmail accounts..

Thanks Diane

I have found after going in circles that the new gmail account is no longer a 'gmail' account, wait for it....it is a 'google mail' account.

I changed my IMAP and STMP settings from "imap.gmail.com" to "imap.googlemail.com" (and stmp.googlemail.com) and hey presto, yes it all works.

My first gmail account was created some years ago and still is a 'gmail' account. It looks as if google have updated to 'googlemail' with their latest update.

Thanks again for your quick reply and vote of confidence.

Cheers

Clumsy Doug.:D

I thought googlemail was reserved for the paid accounts, although its possible they use it for all new accounts. (imap.gmail still works, at least for old accounts)

Yep Diane, my old gmail account is still imap.gmail.com and the new one (not paid for) is imap.googlemail.com.

A trick for slow people like me!

Thanks again.

Doug
