Save emails in the IMAP sent folder

Good morning,

I'm using IMAP and set up right so that all items sent from within Outlook are saved in the sent folder of my IMAP account. But when I send an email out of outlook, (right on top of a file and send to> mail recipient) it saves the message sent to my local folder in Outlook, not IMAP folder.

I noticed that when sending messages this way the tab Options> Save item sent. When I choose a manual folder that is inside my IMAP account it goes to the correct folder, but wanted to put it as the default for every time I do not need to choose the folder in it.

The Send to commands call up outlook at a different point, after the sent folder setting is picked up. Yeah, it's stupid but it's how ExtendedMapi works. If this is only a problem when you send files from windows explorer, see Create a custom Send to... shortcut - Slipstick Systems for shortcuts that will use the correct sent folder. Unfortunately, this won't work when you send from applications.
