Hello to all.

1st I want to thank you on taking interest in my post here.

I have one seriously annoying issue within outlook 2010 email client and it is present on my PC for more then 6 months now.

As I'm not beginner so I tried to Google up the solution, ask in many forums, talked to IT engineers and many other people but I always stayed short for the right solution.

Here is the detailed picture of my problem.

I own domain Dobrodo and on the same I have created few (5-6) email accounts. These email accounts are all on different PCs and my employees access their inbox using Thunderbird or Outlook 2010, depending on the PC.

I have issues only on 2 specific email addreses but only when messages are going one way. Other way everything works fine. Let me clarify...

These 2 email accounts, let call them X and Y @dekom.co.rs, are able to send/receive messages with all other email accounts I have on my domain as well as sending/receiving msgs outside the domain. When I send email from X to Y all is also good. Email is received at Y side and email client (Outlook 2010 in this case) pick the email up right into inbox of Y account. The issue lies in the other way around. So when I send email msg from Y to X, email arrives only in the webmail inbox, but not in the X email client inbox folder (Outlook 2010 also), there is no trace that outlook picked up the msg.

This is sum of what I checked and noticed:

This issue happens only when sending from Y to X. Vice versa all is perfectly ok.

When sending from Y to X email arrives in the webmail but not in the email client (outlook 2010) inbox.

I checked with the my ISP and the host and all is good on their side what they told me.

I checked some other folders like spam but email is not there ether.

All rules are disabled in the outlook.

All filters are disabled in the outlook.

Any ideas people?

Ty in advance

Dean

Hi Diane,

Ty for replaying.

I did as you suggested and I have the log file in the attachment.

Once again email was not picked up by the outlook.

What antivirus do you use? Do the messages download if you start Outlook in Safe mode?

To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.

I'm using Avast free AV. It is updated to its latest version.

When I try to open Outlook in the safe mode I'm getting an error. You can see the printscreen image in the attachment.

That's a weird error message. Not sure why it would kick up for this. Try pasting this into the Run command (Windows key + R)

outlook.exe /safe

and see if the same error comes up.

Morning Diane,

I tried that method and unfortunately, I'm getting the same error msg.

Sorry. I'm out of ideas.

Sorry. I'm out of ideas.

I was afraid you will tell me that Diane. This is very strange problem.

I have one idea but I need your advice. Would complete reinstalltion of the Office help?

I will save my pst and personal data and restore it after the reinstalltion.

Ty in advance.

Re: Interesting issue within Outlook 2010. Challenging for all support personn

It's hard to say. Usually repair or reinstall over itself will fix anything a complete reinstall will fix but I have seen a few issues with bad dlls that it fixed. Also, if you did the x to y and y to x tests from the same workstation, I think both directions would be affected if it was outlook doing something. (My one theory is that the message is corrupt and Outlook can't download it.)

Do you have access to a computer (or virtual machine) that does not have Avast installed? I know some AV filter SMTP mail with a blacklist - I don't know if Avast does it - but it's possible Avast has the address on a blacklist and the hooks go deeper than Outlook in Safe mode can block. (I think everyone with that problem had AVG, but I'm not 100% sure.)

Sorry for my late replay.

Your last post gave me some new ideas. I think AV might be the problem here. I will try to disable all shields for some time and then try send/receive messages.

I will get back to you as soon as I try this.
