I have four macros that each one does a search of theoutlook folders for emails or calendar events related to the contact I open orhighlight. The name of each macro is asfollows and each one is in different Module:

Module2 Sub Search_By_Address_From_and_To()

Module3 Sub Search_By_Address_From()

Module4 Sub Search_By_Address_To( )

Module6 SubSearch_Calender()

I have a Userform12 which has a CommandButton15 and a Combobox18, (as the code below this), and it shows effectively droplistwords which when we use them, they will run a macro from that list of 4macros I stated above.

And I have created a new Module18 where I need to put in themacro code that is related to the Userform12, as the droplist to four the othermacros.

I have other Userforms that correlate to macros that run anemail to the contact based on a email template, so the related marcro opens upthe Userform commandbutton andcombobox and I have the droplist of the relatedmacros

So what I need toget, if possible, is the macro for Module18 that will correlate to theUserform12, so it shows up as droplist and I can click on the related macro torun it.

Here is the code I put in the Userform 12:

Private Sub ComboBox1_Change()

End Sub

Private Sub ComboBox18_Change()

End Sub

Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()

With ComboBox18

.AddItem"Search_By_Address_From_and_To"

.AddItem"Search_By_Address_From"

.AddItem"Search_By_Address_To"

.AddItem"Search_Calender"

End With

End Sub

Private Sub CommandButton15_Click()

lstNum =ComboBox18.ListIndex

Unload Me

End Sub

Here is what is working between the code of the Userform and the Module related to it, and when I run the Macro from the Module, I get the commandbutton and combobox from the Userform, but what ever I decide to run from it only runs the Case 0 from the Module......

So here is both the Userform and the Module, and please if you can let me know right away what to fix so it goes to the macro that click on from the droplist:

Public Sub ComboBox1_Change()

End Sub

Public Sub ComboBox18_Change()

End Sub

Public Sub UserForm_Initialize()

With ComboBox18
.AddItem "Search_By_Address_From_and_To"
.AddItem "Search_Calender"
.AddItem "Search_By_Address_To"
.AddItem "Search_By_Address_From"
End With
End Sub

Public Sub CommandButton15_Click()
lstNum12 = ComboBox18.ListIndex
Unload Me
End Sub

Public lstNo12 As Long

Public Sub Outlook_Searchs()
UserForm12.Show
Select Case lstNo12
Case -1
Search_By_Address_From_and_To 'macro name
Case 0
Search_By_Address_From_and_To 'macro name
Case 1
Search_Calender 'macro name
Case 2
Search_By_Address_To 'macro name
Case 3
Search_By_Address_From 'macro name

End Select
End Sub

Function GetCurrentItem() As Object
Dim objApp As Outlook.Application

Set objApp = Application
On Error Resume Next
Select Case TypeName(objApp.ActiveWindow)
Case "Explorer"
Set GetCurrentItem = objApp.ActiveExplorer.Selection.Item(1)
Case "Inspector"
Set GetCurrentItem = objApp.ActiveInspector.CurrentItem
End Select

Set objApp = Nothing

End Function

1. In most cases, the only reason you need to use a different module is because it's easier to read or view them - they can all be in one module.

2. Your Case statements are what matter.

3. Variables need to match. :)

You are using lstNum and lstNo:

lstNum12 = ComboBox18.ListIndex

Public lstNo12 As Long

Select Case lstNo12

one or the other. :)

The variable needs to be the same in both. It can be lstNum12 or it can be lstNo12 or it can be something else, but it needs to be the same in both the command click and the macro that uses the command click value to pick the case.

Did it and it works perfectly ....thanks so so much!!!

And one more question.....as in the Contact form in the script, I have a number of subs with the name "btnname_click" and I make that the name in a commandbutton for the contact form, and it runs that macro in from the script....so is there a way to adjust this macro that uses the userform etc to do the searches and put it in the contact script so I can then create a commandbutton in the contact to run the macro meaning it opens the userform droplist etc...to pick from......and here is the code that is working perfectly from the module:

Public lstNum12 As Long

Public Sub Outlook_Searchs()
UserForm12.Show
Select Case lstNum12
Case -1
Search_By_Address_From_and_To 'macro name
Case 0
Search_By_Address_From_and_To 'macro name
Case 1
Search_Calender 'macro name
Case 2
Search_By_Address_To 'macro name
Case 3
Search_By_Address_From 'macro name

End Select
End Sub

Function GetCurrentItem() As Object
Dim objApp As Outlook.Application

Set objApp = Application
On Error Resume Next
Select Case TypeName(objApp.ActiveWindow)
Case "Explorer"
Set GetCurrentItem = objApp.ActiveExplorer.Selection.Item(1)
Case "Inspector"
Set GetCurrentItem = objApp.ActiveInspector.CurrentItem
End Select

Set objApp = Nothing

End Function

I'm going to pretend I understood that question and go back to my glass of wine... :)
