Duplicate folders in Outlook 2003

For about a year or more, my Outlook 2003 PST has been huge (>1 GB), with three sets of Personal Folders, all of which appear to mirror each other. Last month, I set up a new C: drive, with Win 7 Pro x64 (old OS had been XP Pro x32), installed Outlook 2003 there, with no duplicates, but of course they returned when I installed the original PST again. Following an earlier thread, I checked in Control Panel, and found two listings for Personal Folders, the current one in C: and a duplicate in my E:\Data drive. But I doubt this is the cause, as the problem existed under XP, too, and I am pretty certain the stuff on E: is a copy I stored for safekeeping after I installed Win 7. Can I safely delete the duplicates from within Outlook? What can I do to shrink my PST?
 
So you have 3 copies of a pst? Are the items within the pst duplicated? Are they all current copies or does one pst have and older file date?

If the stuff in the pst is not duplicated you can just delete the extra pst (i would make a copy of the current pst as backup). If the contents are duplicated you'll need to use a utility to delete the duplicates. http://www.slipstick.com/addins/duplicates-addins/duplicate-remover-tools-for-outlook/

I do not have three separate PST files, but three sets of Personal Folders within my one PST, or so it appears. The contents are all duplicates, near as I can tell, with the two extra Personal Folders coming at the end of the folder list. Deleting an obsolete folder from one of those deleted it from my main Personal Folders, too. (However, when I attempt to make a backup, I see checkboxes for three sets of personal folders and two sets of archive folders -- I have checked only one of each for backup). I am unsure which of the utilities you show I should use.
