Lost contacts.pst afer sync with iCloud: where has contact.pst disapperaed to?

My contacts.pst has disappeared! I prefer to back up locally. After syncing my Outlook Contacts to iCloud, the contacts.pst (normally in AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook) has disappeared. It must be somewhere on my hard drive, undoubtedly under a new name, but where? I want to back-up (so I can retrieve it) locally. Help! Any ideas? (Windows7; Outlook 2007; iTunes latest version; iPhone iOS 7.0.4)

Did the pst disappear or did the contacts disappear from it? Normally, iCloud sucks all of the contacts (appointments and tasks) out of the pst and into the iCloud data file. If you sign out of iCloud, you'll be asked if you want to keep a backup copy locally and iCloud will back them up in a pst file.

The pst disappeared. I actually keep two "My Contacts" folders, one exactly titled "Contacts" containing only the 75 or so records that I want to carry around and so that iTunes automatically syncs to my iPhone; and a second I've titled "Contacts Repository" of about 2,500 other business contacts that I don't need instantaneous access to. Syncing with ICloud uploads only the former "Contacts" which then disappears from the ...AppData/Local/Microsoft/Outlook folder. That file or data must be somewhere. Where? Is it copied to somewhere else on my hard drive?

That is weird - nothing should be deleting the pst file from your hard drive. Which file has your appointments and tasks?
