Hello

after 2 days "working" with BCM now it does not start with Outlook 2013

I tried to reinstall but nothing changed

In Outlook Options - Addinns - goto - COM ADDIN - I clicked on BCM Manager for Outlook and Loader but there is an unknown external error
Do I have to uninstall Outlook?
I can see BCM at the left folder

but it is not at the navigation folder and not either in the FILE menu

Hello Diane
I disinstalled BCM and Office 2013
Then I restarted the PC and installed Office 2013. Then SP1

(proplussp2013-kb2817430-fullfile-x86-de-de.exe 655 MB)
after that I installed BCM

(BCM2010-BCMSetup-x86-de-DE.exe 451 MB)
but it still does not work! is there any problem with SP1, or do I have to install a compatibility pack?

you said "I hate BCM some days" - does this means that this happens often? Because here I only try BCM with Outlook 2013 for our company and then I will install it on 3 PCs
If it allways has this problems I cannot install it and I will buy ACT!16

I have not been able to get BCM to work on my desktop since I updated to updated to Windows 8.1. It works, most of the time, on my laptop and (knock on wood) and fine in a virtual machine running Windows 7. I had a lot of problems with Outlook blocking BCM because it either caused outlook to start too slowly, close too slowly, or caused Outlook to crash.

If you are using Act now and it meets your needs, I'd probably stick with it. I don't have a lot of confidence in the future of BCM - it's impossible to know if Microsoft will keep updating it for future versions of Outlook. They will be releasing an SP1 update, although I don't know when. That update will fix the problem with phone labels being wrong (along with other things).

Check the event viewer for messages relating to Outlook or BCM, they may give us some clues.

I have the following errors:

9 times Security-SPP
Outlook
Office 14
Office 15
twice Windows Error Reporting

Security-SPP has to do with some sort of licensing check. AFAIK, that is windows related, so its not affecting outlook.

what does the outlook error say? Just the first few lines should be enough information, not the entire error.

it was more simple to copy all:

I don't think so. Are you getting the same error message?

(Or maybe it has... :) Not that reinstalling Windows is an acceptable fix... )
