Outlook 2013 and outlook.com sync problems

Outlook 2013 and outlook.com imap account do not sync to inbox on pc, tablet, or android phone. Outlook takes forever to sync before shutdown.

Help!!
 
Hi Terryede,

There are numbers of factor which can cause such synchronizing issues with Microsoft Outlook and other devices while dealing with an IMAP account.

1.) Root Folder path for IMAP account
2.) Subscribe the Root folder
3.) Wrong settings of Outlook profile

Along with this, go and also disable the “Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting” dialog box from the define send/receive group settings.

What do you mean by "don't sync" ? Do you get any error messages? Are there any sync errors in the sync issues folders?

No error messages on any device. I can send and receive normally using outlook.com web mail. I can send using outlook.com on my pc or the android client on my phone or tablet. All incoming and out going messages show on my phone (Galaxy S4). Incoming messages were very, very, slow to make it to the inbox on my pc and tablet over the past few weeks, and nothing has made it to those inboxes since Monday morning. The settings on my phone and tablet are the same.

I followed the instructions for Nos. 1 and 2. In Step #1 the only difference I saw was that after clicking on Query my Folders were separated by a forward slash (/) rather than a period (.). There was no entry in the Root Folder path so I added Inbox. As stated, most of the folders and subfolders were empty, but appeared to sync to where they were. But, the Inbox still has nothing new in it after 9:30 AM on Monday, just as before. And, the sent and deleted folders that were there have been replaced by new folders that are empty.

After completing 1 and 2 I sent a Test email to myself. That Test message did not show in the new Sent Items folder nor in the Inbox. It did show in both the sent and inbox folders on my android phone.

I have been told that the problem may be associated with the configuration of my ATT router and the DNS server.
