I use Windows Live Mail for 3 email accounts one of which is a hotmail address which I use for all my Parent Teacher Assoc stuff and which has continued to work ok since the upgrade to Outlook Mail. However I recently removed some email addresses from one of the groups I had set up in the address book and when I try to send to the amended group I now get this error message:
Server error: 550
Server response: 550 5.3.4 requested action not taken mail delivery to EXO failed
Server:smtp-mail.outlook .com
Windows Live Mail error ID: Ox800CCC69
protocol: SMTP
Port:587
Secure (SSL) Yes
The email sits in my Outbox but surprisingly is received by each of the recipients within the group which includes some outlook /hotmail addresses no less than 3 times..MYSTERY !
I can send to each of the recipients individually (including the hotmail/outlook addresses) but not as a group so I’m guessing the problem exists because I amended the group and the system now thinks this is ‘new’.
This is a real pain as I want to continue to use WLM to manage this hotmail account. I need to add several new contacts to my mailing list, many of which have outlook or hotmail addresses and the only way I’m going to be able to do this is by accessing Outlook via my web browser which I don’t want to do as I HATE the thing…it’s just not user friendly !!
Having searched online for a solution I have found several references to a work around. ‘Configure as IMAP and it will continue to sync’. Well here is my problem my hotmail account is already set up in WLM as an IMAP.
I’m getting more and more frustrated with this as I try in vain to resolve so any help/suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
