You disable the user in the EMC and then create a mailbox for them in

the EMC.

You do not mailbox enable users via ADUC in Exchange 2007. This is managed

through the EMS or EMC.

You can mail disable a legacy user before mailbox enabling them in ADUC

however.

How is the conversion of a mail-enabled user to a mailbox-enabled user

best done via scripted methods (2007)?

Thanks.

It could be as easy as "disable-mailuser|new-mailbox

<some-parameter-values>". But if there are properties that ou want to

preserve that would be removed by the disable-mailuser then you'll

have to preserve those property values before you disable the user.

You'd then use the saved properties to populate the new mailbox

properties.

And, if you're going to be scripting, don't be suckered by the "I can

do this in one line of code" school of thought. There are things that

can, and will go wrong. If you don't check for errors after the

operation you may -- no, _will_ -- be surprised at some point by

things that have gone wrong.
