Hi all,

The VMware engineer told us to move our two nodes A/P exchange 2003 (800
users and 300 blackberry users, 1.2TB data) (future exchange 2007 SCC) to
virtual envir. He souns like the virtual envir. outperforms physical envir.
but, one time, I went to one seminar and the lecturer said "do not
virtualize your exchange servers".

Is there any concern if we'll move our future exchange 2007 SCC to VMware
envir.? Can anyone share?

thank you!

Exchange 2007 is supported in a virtual environment. Exchange 2003 is not.
That isn't to say it doesn't work. My Exchange environment is fully
virtualized.

thank you for your sharing.

From his saying, it seems that the clustering is not needed in the VMware
envir. he mentions Vmotion etc. Is that ture?

VMotion does not equal redundancy. It just gives you the ability to move one
VM to another server.
I would still use the MS clustering technologies available in 2007.

Here's a great article on Exchange VMs:
