Outlook rules don't create a copy for bcc'ed emails

I have rules to create a copy if an email in addition to what is saved in the sent folder. Commonly, if I send to jeandoe@somemail.com, I create a rule so a copy of the email is saved to a folder named Doe, Jean. I have lots of rules, and they're a pain to create (hello, MS, why is the basic navigation so hard?) However, they work, except if jeandoe@somemail.com is bcc'ed, no copy is saved. Any way to make a copy be saved? thanks in advance for any help.

I'd probably use a macro to copy/copy send items. The easiest is to move it to a folder identical to the display name, but if that varies, you could look up the contact and use the display name there (and only move if a contact is found).

This macro shows how to do a contact lookup
Assign Categories to Messages using Contact Category

This one shows how to file sent messages -
Choosing the Folder to Save a Sent Message In

Basically, you need to get the display name from the contact and use it to set the folder instead of hard coding it;
Set objFolder = objNS.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderSentMail).Folders("Diane")

Diane- that sounds like a GREAT idea. I could certainly use it. A LOT. I'm sorry it didn't work, but I appreciate you suggesting it and trying to make it work!
