Ok, it works if I installed an email certificate. I thought an email certificate is not required for sending encrypted email. Essentially, only recipient's public key is required for encryption, isn't it?
As I said, I don't have my own certificate, so I can't install it. As far as I understand, I just need someone's certificate in order to send them encrypted message. And I already have his certificate by having him sending me a signed message.
