Reset Date to Keep Tasks from Archiving

I do not believe it is. There are no options on the Outlook side (policy tab is missing to choose never). I believe it is a futile path down a long rabbit hole. I have had customers ask me to disable online archive just because of this. Diane, thanks for your follow up and persistence...

Reset Date to Keep Tasks from Archiving

I also use the old portal. Where did you find the option to apply retention policy to Tasks? I have been fighting this for well over a year without finding a good solution. I spent hours on the phone with Microsoft and their only option was the same as the previous link.

Reset Date to Keep Tasks from Archiving

I don't see where to apply a retention policy to a specific folder only. Of course, the 365 admin portal changes every day, so sometimes impossible to find what was in one place the day before! How did you get there?

Reset Date to Keep Tasks from Archiving

Yes, online Archive. There is not an option to exclude Tasks exclusively from online Archive. Microsoft acknowledges this. Work around is to create a new retention policy that disables archiving as the default option and going to each folder and enabling archiving manually. Not a good...

Reset Date to Keep Tasks from Archiving

Is there a better way than creating a new retention policy in Microsoft 365 to keep Tasks from archiving? Creating a retention policy as per Microsoft recommendation requires manually setting archive/retention for each folder and any future new folders. I also get complaints that users can't...

    Outlook Temporary File

Fairly regularly, Outlook will reset its temporary folder and all my emails will have placeholders for the images in my emails (the linked image cannot be displayed...). It has started happening more regularly, so I decided I would trick Outlook and create a new folder and point the temp files...

Office 365 - Contacts Sort First, Last instead of Last, First. How to Reset?

No errors when Outlook shut down and no errors in the event logs for Outlook other than the errors where Outlook shut down and restarted. I do not have the patch installed.

Office 365 - Contacts Sort First, Last instead of Last, First. How to Reset?

I don't think the Macro would apply. Checking the contacts, the Name fields are correct. I ended up changing them manually. I lost all my custom File As sorting as well (ex., I am a Dell Partner and I had 20 contacts that were filed as Dell (First Name, Last Name) that were reset) and had...

Office 365 - Contacts Sort First, Last instead of Last, First. How to Reset?

My Office 365 account did something strange yesterday. My contacts have always sorted Last Name, First Name. I was looking up a contact and realized it was now sorting First Name, Last Name. In the contact view, the File As now shows First Last on all contacts. If I create a new contact, it...

    Smartphones, Outlook and Rules

I miss my Windows 6.5 phone. I could use rules for my emails and the phone would show me unread messages in those folders. I also like the fact that I could filter out folders I didn't need to see and only have those main folders where rules where applied showing up in my mobile email. I have...

Outlook 2013 - Inline Editing of Contacts

I checked that and it is already enabled. I also unchecked it, restarted Outlook, checked it again and restarted, but still doesn't work.

Outlook 2013 - Inline Editing of Contacts

Using the Address Card view, how can I edit a contact (or copy/paste info) directly in the address card? I find I have to now open the contact to be able to edit or copy/paste info. Thanks!

Outlook 2013 - Removed Social Connector, LinkedIn and Messenger Reappear

Thanks Diane. Let me know if you find that article. If I may comment on how much I appreciate the time you invest in these forums and how quickly you respond. I have been following your site and posts in newsgroups for many years. I am an IT consultant and Microsoft Partner in Charlotte...

Outlook 2013 - Removed Social Connector, LinkedIn and Messenger Reappear

Couldn't find the People Pane at first. I had to re-enable the Social Connector. I will try removing them from here and let you know how it goes. In Outlook 2010, it was much simpler to disable. I find having the Social Connector in 2010 really slowed down Outlook. I also don't like it...

Outlook 2013 - Removed Social Connector, LinkedIn and Messenger Reappear

I logged out of each connected service, closed Outlook. I then re-opened Outlook and only unchecked the Social Connector Add-In. I did not remove it.

Outlook 2013 - Removed Social Connector, LinkedIn and Messenger Reappear

I upgraded to 2013 about a month ago. In the initial setup, I added my LinkedIn, Facebook and Messenger accounts linking them to my Office Account. I then realized it was creating multiple contacts on my iPhone and that my default picture and the pictures of other contacts kept changing...
