Recipient's name replaced by open and closed brackets!

My second post of the day. An odd occurrence in Microsoft Outlook 2010 that only began today. How to remove the (1) from an email profile?
Very pleased to have found this forum! Thanks to everyone as I know one of you will solve my issue. In trying to rectify a problem, my ISP advised me today to delete my default email profile and create a new one. I did this (with their guidance) but with some hesitation.
