Hi Diane, I gave it a try: removed the entry "firstname.lastname@example.org_SSPI" from both the registry and Windows Credentials.
Reboot. Started all applications. Then started the indexing tool (X1) in 'paused' mode, i.e. it was launched but did not perform the indexing task.
As always, thank you so much for the elaborate reply Diane. Truly appreciated, really.
After reading, I think I will not try to create a new profile. It isn't worth all the work for this relatively minor issue.
It is a different in case of a new install, after a Windows update or something...
Because of some kind of credential issue (long, complicated story, not relevant here) triggered by another application, I was suggested to create a new Outlook profile.
The way to do that is not an issue. There are sufficient tutorials showing how to do it.
If it involves just one email...
next one ..
the date attributes of the files saved that in that way are updated to the date of saving (create/modified/access date)
Would there be a way to have these files saved
a. without having to open the...
My address list contains 'normal' email addresses (+ contact details) and a list of company, 99% of which are, in fact, also normal email addresses.
I have compared two entries and they look the same, except with the 'normal' (non-company) email, "This is the mailing address" is tagged.
Sorry for the delay.
I guess that currently there is no solution for this.
If you have a task, with a reminder date, let's say today.
A pop up shows up
Then at the bottom there is an option to postpone it.
Say you postpone it a week.
Now, I have noticed that the reminder date...
Thank you Diane.
There are so many fields to select, it is a bit strange that this one is missing, given the many other fields to select from.
I have a task to do something
I did so.
However, I should do it again next week and the week thereafter and thereafter, the coming 3 months...
When clicking on a link within an email I sometimes below error:
Due to an internal error, this web page could not be loaded. We recommend that you close this page.
Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection has encountered an error.
In this example, when clicking on the URL in the mail,
Indeed, this is something I wouldn't do myself, so I guess this is due to a background process.
Therefore I checked out the Event Log and noticed there has been some kind of "Reconciliation" process (whatever it may mean).
Have no idea whether at all it may have something to do...
More or less by coincidence I came across a Youtube video about editing Outlook profiles.
see: How to edit Outlook's Profile
Following those steps I noticed that my default profile changed.
I set up Outlook to be using my Outlook Exchange account as default, but now noticed it changed to...
Later . . .
Yes, you are right on the pop matter.
I checked the tasks on my laptop, in the 'To-Do list' I added 'Outlook Data File' Column in the view.
Noticed that the duplicates are from the existing .pst file that is added to Outlook on desktop and laptop (serving more or less as archive)...
Diane - what would happen if I delete the tasks from on my laptop?
So I'll get rid of the reminders there. Or am I to understand that then the tasks on my desktop are removed as well?
Or should I set the date to 2030 on my laptop, because the dates are not synchronized after all?
Hmm... that's a bit of a disappointment.
Many of those tasks are in fact reminders. Check this, check that. If I postpone a task on my desktop, I would not know until when, when using my laptop. I assume this also counts for Outlook on desktop, meaning, if a user is on vacation for...
Is it correct that tasks that I have postponed within Outlook 365 on my desktop PC show up within Outlook on my laptop?
Seems that part of Outlook isn't synchronizing then, i.e. I am getting quit a list of some items on my laptop.
Thank you Diane.
My main profile IS indeed Exchange now. But back then it was POP3.
As for the 'tablet-issue''
I now realize, the tablet software (AquaMail) by default selected imap protocol - I think it could not be changed to POP - and probably the issues were because of that...
