i for got to mention that im using Outlook 2007. the instructions you were so nice to provide were for Outlook 2010 Exchange Server. im stand along not on a server. i still need hepl. Michael

All was working well for mein the iCloud until I realized that you can't search notes in an Outlookcontact if it is in Contacts in icloud.. I have tested this by creating two contactswith identical Note sections. One is in Contacts and one is in Contacts iniCloud. The search feature works...
